Right of withdrawal

In languages other than English, this page is shown in an automatic translation, to help you read it. The English text is the version that applies.

Your 14-day right

When you buy as a consumer from a farm that sells as a business, at a distance through mio.farm, you normally have the right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days, without giving any reason. This right comes from the EU Consumer Rights Directive and applies in Norway (the Right of Withdrawal Act, angrerettloven) and in Iceland (lög um neytendasamninga nr. 16/2016).

The farm is the seller. You therefore send your notice to the farm, not to mio.farm. The farm's name and contact details are on the farm's page and on your receipt.

When the 14 days start

  • Goods: from the day you receive them. If one order arrives in several parts, from the day you receive the last part.
  • A season share with regular deliveries: from the day you receive the first delivery.
  • Services: from the day the agreement is made.

It is enough that you send your notice before the 14 days have ended. If the farm did not tell you about the right of withdrawal as the law requires, the deadline is extended by up to 12 months.

Exceptions: when there is no right of withdrawal

  • Perishable food. Fresh food that spoils quickly, such as vegetables, berries, eggs or fresh herbs, cannot be returned once it has been delivered. For a season share, this applies to each delivery you have received.
  • Services and shares already begun with your consent. If you asked for a service, or the service part of a share, to start within the 14 days and accepted that you lose the right of withdrawal once it has been fully performed, you cannot withdraw from what has been performed. If you withdraw while it is under way, you pay for the part already provided.
  • Courses and events on a specific date. There is no 14-day withdrawal for them. The cancellation rule in the terms applies instead.
  • Goods made or weighed specifically for you, such as a weighed cut booked to you, where they cannot be resold.

What happens when you withdraw

The farm refunds what you have paid for what you withdraw from, without undue delay and no later than 14 days after it receives your notice. For a season share, the value of deliveries you have already received is deducted. When the price of an item is refunded in full, mio.farm also refunds its service fee for that item.

If you have received goods that can be returned, send them back to the farm, or hand them in as agreed with the farm, no later than 14 days after you gave notice. Unless the farm has agreed otherwise, you pay the direct cost of returning them. The farm may wait with the refund until it has received the goods back, or you have shown that you have sent them.

Tell the farm clearly that you withdraw, for example by email. You may use the form below, but you do not have to. Fill it in, then copy the text into an email to the farm, or print it or save it as a PDF and send it. Keep a copy for yourself.
